SSHS SEEKS MSA

In the fall of 2008 Saint Saviour High School began the process for Middle States Accreditation.  By November we had been accepted as candidates for the Accreditation for Growth protocol. Now our work of preparing our self-study has begun.

Middle States Accreditation applies internationally recognized standards of quality for educational institutions and provides a framework for improving student performances.

The self-study of our school and its students will provide the framework for a meaningful plan for improvement in the future.

During the 2008-2009 school year the faculty met each Wednesday to do the preliminary tasks for accreditation. Ms. Elizabeth Casey and Ms. Eileen Maguire were appointed internal coordinators of the Middle States process. The faculty handbook was revised, a mission statement was created and the work on the graduate profile was begun   Now to help with this process a planning team made up of various stakeholders was formed.  The members of the Middle States planning team include:

The first orientation meeting was held on June 22nd. Then on September 21st the planning team was divided into three subcommittees to continue work on our self-study. Soon we will be needing your help, too.  During the month of October parents and students will be asked to complete short surveys which will help us to see our strengths and weaknesses and to set appropriate goals for the future.

Keep checking this website for updates on the Middle States Accreditation process.  We know we can count on your support as Saint Saviour High School continues its high standards of education for the young women of Brooklyn. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact either Ms. Casey or Ms. Maguire via e-mail or at 1(718)768-4406, extension #18.
