Briana E. Class of 2019 was accepted into the New York University High School Law Institute (“HSLI”), a free program offered at NYU every Saturday from 10AM to 2PM (breakfast offered 9:30 to 10AM). The classes are taught by NYU Law students and are broken down into discussions, classroom activities and analysis of criminal law, constitutional law, mock trial, and moot court (parents were also allowed to attend the first class). In November, HSLI holds a College Day, where students have the chance to speak to representatives from several colleges around the country. Program graduation is in March, and this includes a mock trial which students "compete" against a similar group from Columbia University.
