Caterina’23 has been accepted to the FEMA Youth Preparedness Council

October 18, 2019

Caterina C., Class of 2023, has been chosen as a member of the local board for the FEMA Youth Preparedness Council. Caterina will be a part of the Region II Council, which represents New York, New Jersey, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.  FEMA works with students so that when their communities are hit by a disaster, they can help make their neighborhoods safer and more resilient than before.

As a member of Council II, Caterina will develop and carry out a preparedness project. She will share her experiences, ideas, solutions and questions about youth disaster preparedness via conference calls and meetings with FEMA staff and Council II members. Caterina's commitment to disaster preparedness is the reason why she was nominated for this position last year by her Middle School.

Congratulations to Caterina!
