Climate Change 2019

September 20, 2019

Pope Francis has called on the world’s Catholics to join the fight against climate change.  The Pope declared that the science of climate change is clear and that the Catholic Church views climate change as a moral issue that must be addressed in order to protect the Earth and everyone on it. Based on this, and St Saviour High School’s own mission to guide our students not just in their academic and spiritual development, but to also strengthen their awareness of social and moral responsibilities, and free of any political agenda, the St. Saviour High School community celebrated Global Climate Strike Day with an assembly on the issue of Climate change, presented by our Environmental Studies Class taught by Ms. Eileen Cush. Students also gave their suggestions about how we can take action to bring about real change. In the words of climate activist Greta Thunberg, "When we start to act hope is everywhere. So instead of looking for hope - look for action. Then the hope will come".  #CLIMATECHANGE
