Melanie Watson, '17 was accepted into and attended the 2015 Applied Research and Innovation in Science and Engineering (ARISE) program at New York University (NYU) Polytechnic School of Engineering. During the seven-week program, she was mentored in the research area of Information Systems and Internet Security –specifically email security- by members of the NYU faculty and the Cyber Security division of the U.S. Department of Defense. At the conclusion of the program, Melanie was required to make a presentation summarizing the overall research project as well as her specific contribution. The audience was comprised of NYU faculty, classmates and family members.
