Saint Saviour High School accepted to the Amazon Future Engineering Program

May 3, 2019

Saint Saviour High School is proud to announce that we have been accepted to the Amazon Future Engineering Program.

The Amazon Future Engineer program initiative seeks to dramatically expand access to high caliber preparatory courses, curricular resources, and programs for schools and districts to help prepare and propel high school students forward in their pursuit of AP Computer Science education.

Amazon, by partnering with Edhesive seeks to improve Computer Science education at the K-12 level. For three years now, St. Saviour High School has covered the costs associated with offering the AP Computer Science curriculum through the Edhesive platform. Director of Technology Anthony Tricarico worked extensively with Edhesive to secure St. Saviour High School's acceptance into this prestigious and innovative program.

Beginning with the Fall 2019 semester, Amazon will be covering all costs for this new venture. The new courses will be:

  • Intro to Computer Science for all incoming Freshmen
  • AP Computer Science Principles, to any student who meets the criteria in the Sophomore, Junior and Senior years
  • AP Computer Science A Java course for students who qualify.

In addition to covering these foundational courses, participation in the program also offer our students access to the vast network of ideas and career development of one of the largest and fastest growing multinational corporations in the world.
