On Monday, Oct.19, Victoria Nilsen '16 attended the Engineering Women’s Forum at Columbia University (where her Dad is also a graduate!). She met with the renowned Columbia Engineering faculty, was introduced to Columbia’s unique approach to engineering and learned about the exciting opportunities available to female engineers at Columbia. Columbia Engineering’s dean, Mary C. Boyce, also spoke at the beginning of the program. With 46% of this year’s Columbia Engineering first-year class comprised of women and with over half of our student body self-identifying as students of color, they are one of the most diverse schools of engineering in the country.
