Athletics

St. Saviour’s proud athletic tradition paid dividends this season as its teams won three diocesan championships in basketball, softball, and tennis:

  • For the third time in the past five seasons, St. Saviour’s varsity basketball team captured the Brooklyn/Queens Diocese B-Division Championship.  This year St. Saviour defeated Fontbonne in the championships.
  • St. Saviour’s varsity softball team destroyed its competition, losing only one game the entire season before handily defeating Bishop Ford in the title game.  The victory earned St. Saviour its first ever Brooklyn/Queens Diocese B-Division Softball Championship.
  • Not to be outdone, the St. Saviour Tennis Team also captured the school’s first-ever Brooklyn/Queens Diocese B-Division Tennis Championship.  The tennis team then capped-off its stellar season by reaching the NY State AA Finals.  So dominating was the St. Saviour’s tennis team that one of its members won every match during the season until she reached the AA Finals.
