Rising seniors, Teresa Collins and Julie Pham were able to work with engineers at Manhattan College, Riverdale, NY, this summer. The program allowed students to explore the different fields of engineering to better prepare them for their future careers. Between working with CAD software in the Leo Engineering Building to building water filtration devices in the environmental lab, the ten day program was fast paced and extremely informational. Engineers, contracting groups, and Manhattan College alumni came to speak about their experiences in the work force. The program concluded with a trip to the New York Life building where the Thornton Tomasetti structural engineering consulting firm is headquartered and a friendly competition between students who worked in teams to build the most durable wooden structures.
