Senior Lauren Jaworowski '20 earned a scholarship given in tribute to Dr Mildred Fay Jefferson and funded by the Richard the Lionhearted Right to Life Foundation. On Tuesday, December 3, Mr. Michael Nilsen P'16 spoke about Dr. Jefferson's passion for pro-life in addition to becoming the first African American woman to graduate from Harvard's Medical School in surgery. He also spoke about having passion for this cause and was impressed with the work that our students have done towards the pro-life movement.
Lauren received a certificate, a coin and statue of Dr. Jefferson in addition to the scholarship. Mr. Nilsen was inspired by his father Richard's peaceful, pro-life rallies and started the Richard the Lionhearted Foundation to keep moving forward his father’s efforts. Members of the Right to Life club also received coins. We thank the Nilsen Family for their support of our students.
